12 Valentine's Day Gifts Under $15

After a semi-painful session doing our taxes, I'm totally ready to share a fun gift guide that I put together for Valentine's Day. But first I wanted to thank you guys for all your comments all the time. I love you for it. It was especially fun for me to get your comments on the Patchwork Furniture post. I felt like we were having a discussion and you guys made some great points. And since I didn't present you with any hideous patchwork furniture makings of my own, you didn't have to hold back on what you really thought (not that you would, I know it is presumptuous for me to think so) and you told me what you really thought!  I definitely want to do that again!

Sooooo with Valentine's Day and my birthday coming up, I thought I'd make a list of inexpensive, yet sweet gifts to get for a special someone (most likely of the female persuasion). Some are little things and others would be great as part of a Valentine's Day date night package. Also, everything really is under $15. Some of them would even leave enough money leftover to get a second gift and still be under $15.

1. White Candles - A couple sets of this 5-pack could make for a very romantic room all lit up. 2. Pink Bath Salts - Treat a lady to a relaxing night at home, starting with a salt bath. 3. Monogrammed Necklace - This could be a sweet gift for a son/daughter to get a mom. 4. Heart Ring - A daily reminder of your love in this feminine and delicate ring. 5. The Art of Hearing Heartbeats - I haven't read this yet but it sounds like a beautiful love story in another culture. 6. Mini Heart Spring-foam Pans - Spend the night at home together making some delicious mini-heart cheesecakes. Mmmmmm. 7. Striped Lacquer Box - A perfect addition upon any nightstand or desk to collect jewelry or paper clips and pens. 8. Heart CD - This one is full of Heart classics. If you want that moment to be "special", might I suggest starting with Magic Man. ;) 9. Dirty Dancing - Nobody puts Baby in the corner. Enough said. (P.s. It is $1.99 to rent on Amazon Instant. But of course you already own it, right?) 10. Jonathan Adler Accessory Pouch - At 7x10 inches, this adorable pouch would be great to hold items that go back and forth between bags or to keep your big everyday bag more organized and less cluttered by sticking your notebook and pens in it. 11. Heart Candles - These would look adorable as part of a table setting or mixed in with the white candles. 12. Hand Painted Dictionary Page Art - The perfect gift for any book, bird and/or decor lover (aka me).

We'll probably keep it pretty low-key for Valentine's Day, we usually do. In less than three months time, we'll have celebrated four major holidays in our house - Christmas, my birthday, Valentine's Day and our anniversary. Sheesh, you think we could have at least planned the anniversary for a better time of year! I'd love any of the gifts listed above, but I'm pretty much considering our new dining room table my birthday, Valentine's Day and anniversary gift, especially since it will need some new, vintage chairs to go with it!

So what do you have planned? Do you like to get flowers and chocolate too? Do you do fancy dinners out? Have you done your taxes yet?

  1. I love the box and the pans! Adorable. We don't usually celebrate Valentine's but Andoni surprised me with some chocolates last year :)

  2. I missed your patchwork post because I was stuck at the auction the whole day and I'm so bummed. Amazing stuff went for way more than I wanted to spend :( You would have loved all the midcentury modern furniture! I kind of link the patchwork look but not on every piece of furniture, I guess it depends.
I love all your VDay gift ideas. I have a Valentine's Day giveaway today :)

  4. So fun! I may just have to jump on the bus and create a Valentine list. I usually care so little about Valentines. My husband always brings home daisies for me (usually from the grocery store). And we usually stay in and cook something extra delicious like lobster or crab. This year since we have a long weekend right after Valentines, we're talking about a little mini trip possibly.
